2020 Danny Noonan Invitational

The 20th Annual Danny Noonan Invitational has been in the works for a while now. It was supposed to be a huge celebration of the first 20 years of the Noonan. Unfortunately, the 20th Noonan is in 2020, where nothing has been normal or easy. The Noonan was postponed from the Spring as the world shut down in April 2020....there was talk of canceling the event this year with all of the craziness of a Pandemic. HOWEVER, in true Noonan fashion, we made it happen in October 2020.

There were definitely adjustments as COVID restrictions made it difficult for indoor dining, no time in Vegas, etc....but we took it all in stride. We made the Pavilion at the Park work nicely for two of our dinners, including the final awards dinner on Saturday evening in Mesquite.

We had a great group of 24 players (biggest turnout in years during a Pandemic!). We also had several awards and videos to celebrate the last 20 years of the Noonan (past winners, past events, etc). It turned out to be an amazing rematch of the Noonan Cup, as Tim Botkin and Dan Gorman faced off as Captains for the 3rd time in four years. Tim's teams had won the previous two Noonan Cups, but with a strong finish by Dan himself on the last day, Team Gorman narrowly eeked out a victory by the score of 13-11. Dan's clinching single's match against Tim proved to be the difference.

We all appreciated being able to see each other and spend time together amidst a pandemic, and this probably made the event even more special.
